Alster run

The green Alsterdorf district has a lot to offer outdoor enthusiasts. For example, how about a canoe trip on the nearby Alster river in good weather? Jogging fans, cyclists and all four-legged friends can enjoy the idyllic natural surroundings here.

Discover the most beautiful sides of Hamburg

There is a lot to discover in Hamburg's city centre: Museums, theatres and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, the Speicherstadt warehouse district, which has been declared a Word Heritage Site, the modern Hafencity and, of course, our landmark - the Hamburg Michel. The nearby Stadtpark and the traditional park "Planten un Blomen" are very popular, especially in summer, as is Hagenbeck's zoo. 

The best thing to do is to discover the Hanseatic city for yourself and get your own impression. There is something to explore in every season and as they say in Hamburg: that's not wind, that's just a little gust.

Hamburg's green oasis

Take a trip to the 148-hectare Stadtpark and visit one of the open-air concerts in the summer months, enjoy an Astra at the Stadtparksee lake or book an event at the planetarium. There are many possibilities here.

Harbour tour

Change your perspective and get to know the most beautiful city in the world on a harbour cruise. Choose, for example, between a classic large harbour tour or an evening lights tour. When the sun goes down and the lights in the harbour come on, a completely new picture emerges and shows you - water level permitting - the Speicherstadt in an unforgettable sea of lights. Miniature Wonderland

If you want to see the world's largest model railway layout, Miniaturwunderland is the place for you. It is located in the historic Speicherstadt warehouse district and fascinates over a million visitors every year. Discover, among other things, detailed replicas of Hamburg's sights, go on a round trip through the United States or explore the section on Scandinavia. An absolute highlight!

Elbphilharmonie

The Elbphilharmonie is Hamburg's new landmark and attracts many tourists. Not only because of the two impressive concert halls, but also because of the view from the plaza and the architectural masterpiece, long queues often form in front of the entrance area. A visit to the Plaza is free of charge, but guided tours and tickets should be booked in advance.

Hamburg's many facets

City tour

The red double-decker buses offer a varied hop-on hop-off tour with a total of 29 stops. The 90-minute journey is filled with anecdotes and historical events by the bus driver as the individual city districts pass by. Interested? Tickets can be purchased at our reception.

Anyone visiting a musical in Hamburg for the first time will definitely be a repeat offender. It is not without reason that Hamburg is known as a city of musicals, as several theatres stage different performances at the same time, making for an unforgettable experience. Be it The Lion King, Harry Potter or The Hot Corner - there is something for every taste and you are spoilt for choice.

The Schmidt theatres on the Reeperbahn promise the best entertainment for young and old - true to the motto "quirky, shrill and charming". Visit one of the many performances: be it a musical, comedy, show or gala. The long-running favourites "Heiße Ecke" and "Cavemen" are particularly popular not only with tourists but also with Hamburg residents. For little theatre fans, we recommend the seasonally changing performances at the Schmidt Children's Theatre.
